Clinical Supervision with Niki: Real Talk, Real Support

So… you’re looking for a supervisor. If you’re looking for someone with a sense of humour, a deep passion for counselling and helping people, and a down-to-earth, common-sense approach—you might’ve just found your person.

Hi, I'm Niki—a Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling - Supervisior (provisional) (MPCC-S), someone who believes supervision should be professional and personal. With over three decades of experience working with families and eight years running my own private practice at Healing Family Matters Counselling in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside children, youth, couples, and individuals through some of life’s most challenging terrain.

I bring extensive experience in working with unique and challenging children  and youth, foster and kinship families, high-conflict separations/divorces, co-parenting dynamics, couples, and individual counselling. I have training in Gottman's Method, Relational Life Therapy, the Couples Institute model, Therapeutic Play from RMPTI, and I am internationally credentialed in Sand Tray Therapy. My therapeutic toolkit includes all things creative—therapeutic play, expressive arts, Transactional Analysis, CBT, DBT—and I bring that same flexibility and depth to supervision.

I believe in the Integrated Developmental Model of supervision, meeting you where you’re at and adapting the process as you grow in confidence and clinical competence. Just as I use integrative therapy with all my clients—drawing from multiple modalities to create a personalized approach—I’ll do the same for you. You are not a one-size-fits-all clinician, and your supervision shouldn't be either.

I also understand that when you need support, you usually need it yesterday. That’s why I offer flexible options for supervision, including virtual and in-person sessions, monthly office hours (free for my primary supervisee's), one-on-one supervision, group supervision, and consultations. Whether you're navigating ethical concerns, client challenges, or just figuring out your therapist identity—I’ll be there with honest feedback, guidance, and a healthy dose of humour when you need it most.

❤️ Listens deeply  ❤️ Offers constructive, practical feedback  ❤️ Keeps it real—and supportive

❤️ Clearly communicates expectations and goals  ❤️ Genuinely cares about your growth  ❤️ Models ethics, boundaries, and balance  ❤️ Helps you find your voice as a therapist  ❤️ Keeps it real—and supportive

If you’re looking for a values-driven supervisor who brings structure, creativity, compassion, and a whole lot of realness—I might just be your person.
