Feeling overwhelmed and exhausted — like you’re constantly treading water just to keep your head above it?

Maybe you’re barely staying afloat. The waves feel heavier, the breaks to breathe shorter, and keeping everything together — relationships, kids, work — feels like a full-time job you never applied for.

Joy? It feels pretty far away right now.

You’ve tried to handle it all on your own (because of course you have), but you’re realizing that white-knuckling your way through life isn’t working anymore. You don’t need another thing on your to-do list — you need someone to actually listen and help you figure out what comes next.

We’re really glad you found your way here. And yes — we can help.

Together, we’ll sort through what’s going on and figure out what strategies and tools actually work for you. Not generic advice. Not “just try harder.” Real support, tailored to your real life.

We support individuals, couples, and families navigating all kinds of real-life stuff — including pregnancy and birth trauma, postpartum depression, disordered eating, parenting challenges, co-parenting and divorce, foster and kinship care, anxiety and depression, grief and loss, shame and guilt, and those “why is this so hard?” communication struggles in relationships.

Our counsellors each bring their own strengths and expertise, and we work hard to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you don’t have to explain or defend yourself. We’ll help you build practical strategies, steady yourself, and move toward a life that feels more manageable — and more meaningful.

Because no two people (or families) are the same, we tailor our sessions to you. Together, we’ll make sense of what’s happening in your world and create a plan that helps you move closer to the life you deserve.

If you’re ready to take a step forward, we’re ready to walk alongside you. No pressure. No fixing. Just support.

Find Our Office

At HFM Counselling, we acknowledge that our office in Fort Saskatchewan is located on Treaty 6 territory, the traditional and ancestral lands of many Indigenous Nations, including the Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Métis, Dene, and Nakota Sioux peoples. This land has been a place of gathering, relationship, and healing for generations.

We honor the deep connection Indigenous Peoples have to this land and recognize the ongoing impacts of colonization and intergenerational trauma. As a mental health practice, we are committed to cultural humility, listening, and learning from Indigenous voices and ways of knowing.

We strive to create a space that is welcoming, safe, and inclusive for all individuals and families, including First Nations, Métis, and Inuit clients. Our work is guided by values of respect, relational care, and a commitment to meaningful reconciliation.
